The wooden model of an IMOCA

A UNIQUE PRODUCT TO BE ASSEMBLED BY YOU

Developed and designed by a Belgian architect, this faithful replica of a 60-foot (18.28m) Open Monohull "IMOCA" type monohull, on a scale of 1/40, will allow you to combine a beautiful decorative object in your interior while satisfying your passion for model making !

Thanks to a precise laser cut in a 3mm birch multiplex board, we have developed a unique board gathering all the wooden parts.

The sails are printed on 170gr paper and the shrouds are made of sewing threads.

3 POSSIBLE POSITIONS

With the same base, it is possible to put the model in three different positions !

ABOUT

THOMAS VANWINDEKENS

ARCHITECT IN BRUSSELS (www.spotless.be)

Passionate about architecture, design, sailing, naval architecture and ocean racing, the start of the Vendée Globe 2020, made me want to make an IMOCA model.

Not finding anything on the market, I decided to make it myself.

From the research of documents, through a 3D model, through the reading of the precise standards of the IMOCA class and a few prototypes later... the project took shape to become a fun object to build while being a unique decorative object!

IMOC-UP, a contraction of IMOCA and MOCK-UP, came to life!

AND IMOC-UP BECAME A TROPHY !

Following their second place in the Transat Jacques Vabres 2021, Charlie Dalin and Paul Meilhat (Team APIVIA) took the lead in the IMOCA GLOBE SERIES championship and received an IMOC-UP 1/40 as a trophy !

Thanks again to IMOCA GLOBE SERIES !
